Privacy Policy

PMV Educational Advocacy
Effective date: September 22, 2025
Contact: laura@pmvea.com

PMV Educational Advocacy (“PMVEA,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. Our services support families and students, including children under 13, so we follow the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

Who we are (Operator)

PMV Educational Advocacy, owned and operated by Laura Piccolo.
Contact: laura@pmvea.com

Who this policy covers

  • Parents/Guardians and adult clients who visit our site, contact us, or use our services.

  • Children under 13 (“children”) only with verifiable parental consent as described below.

What we collect

We collect only what is reasonably necessary to provide our services.

Information you provide:

  • Parent/guardian and student names, contact details, availability.

  • Educational and support information shared by a parent/guardian (e.g., IEP/504 documents, evaluation summaries, school reports), goals, preferences.

  • Messages, intake forms, and scheduling details.

  • Payment information processed by our payment provider (we do not store full card numbers).

Information collected automatically (site):

  • Basic technical data like IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps.

  • Cookies or similar technologies (you can manage these in your browser).

  • [If used: privacy-friendly analytics such as aggregate traffic counts.]

We do not knowingly collect geolocation, biometric data, or social security numbers.

How we use information

  • Provide, schedule, and improve services and resources.

  • Communicate with you about appointments, materials, and updates.

  • Personalize recommendations and track requested changes/goals.

  • Maintain security, prevent misuse, and meet legal obligations.

We do not sell personal information.

COPPA: Children’s privacy

We do not allow children to create accounts or submit information without parent/guardian involvement. When a parent/guardian asks us to work with a child under 13, we obtain verifiable parental consent before collecting, using, or disclosing that child’s personal information.

How we obtain verifiable consent (one or more of the following):

  • A signed consent form returned by email or e-signature.

  • A brief video call with the parent/guardian.

  • A nominal payment transaction (to verify adult status).

  • A government-ID check performed visually during a call, without retaining a copy.

Parent/guardian rights under COPPA:
At any time, a parent/guardian may:

  • Review the child’s personal information.

  • Request deletion of the child’s information.

  • Withdraw consent and refuse further collection or use.
To exercise these rights, email laura@pmvea.com. We may take steps to verify your identity.

Educational records and sensitive data

We only access documents (e.g., IEPs, assessment reports) that a parent/guardian chooses to share. We handle such information confidentially and use it solely to provide advocacy and mentoring services. PMVEA is not a school and is not subject to FERPA, but we apply comparable care and privacy practices.

Payment processing

Payments are handled by a third-party processor. We receive confirmation of payment and limited details (e.g., last 4 digits, date) but not full card numbers.

Disclosures to third parties

We share information only as needed to run our business and as authorized by you:

  • Service providers (e.g., secure hosting, email, scheduling, payment processing) bound by confidentiality and data-protection obligations.

  • Legal reasons (e.g., to comply with law or protect rights, safety, or security).

  • With your direction (e.g., coordinating with schools, clinicians, or attorneys).

We do not permit third parties to use children’s information for their own marketing.

Cookies & similar technologies

We may use cookies to operate the site, remember preferences, and understand aggregate site usage. You can adjust your browser settings to limit or disable cookies; some features may not function without them.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Data retention

We keep information only as long as needed to provide services, meet legal/financial obligations, or resolve disputes. You may request deletion at any time (see Your choices).

Your choices

  • Access/Correction/Deletion: Email laura@pmvea.com to request a copy, correction, or deletion of your (or your child’s) information.

  • Withdraw consent: Parents/guardians can withdraw consent for children’s data at any time.

  • Communications: You can opt out of non-essential emails.

Do Not Track / targeted ads

Our site does not respond to “Do Not Track” signals and does not serve interest-based ads to children.

Links to other sites

Our site may link to third-party sites. We are not responsible for their privacy practices. Review their policies before sharing information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new effective date and, for material changes, provide a notice on the site or via email.

3) Not medical, mental-health, or legal advice

Our services are complementary and educational. We do not diagnose, treat, or cure medical/mental-health conditions, and we are not a law firm. Nothing on the site or in a session is medical, mental-health, or legal advice. Always consult your licensed clinicians and/or attorney for advice specific to you.

  • The studio is sacred, by appointment only, and not used by anyone unless we are in session.

  • Please arrive on time; late arrivals may reduce your session length.

  • Packages/memberships/special events may have additional terms posted at purchase.

  • Gift certificates (if offered) are non-refundable, transferable once, and must be used before the stated expiration.

9) Session length & results

  • Typical durations: Strategy Session ~2 hours; Transformation Game ~2.5–4 hours; other services as listed.

  • Individual experiences vary; we do not guarantee particular outcomes or timelines.

10) Testimonials & examples

Client stories and testimonials reflect personal experiences. They are not promises of results for all clients.

11) Intellectual property

All site content, session materials, handouts, graphics, logos, recordings, and program curricula are owned by PMV or licensed to us. You may not copy, distribute, modify, or create derivative works without written permission. Personal, non-commercial use is permitted.

12) Community standards (events & groups)

We maintain a respectful, inclusive environment. We may remove/decline participants for disruptive or unsafe behavior without refund.

13) Third-party links & tools

Our site may link to or embed third-party services (e.g., scheduling, payments, video). Use of those services is governed by their terms and policies. We are not responsible for third-party practices.

14) Privacy

Your use of the site and services is also governed by our Privacy Policy (COPPA-aware for children under 13). Parents/guardians may review, delete, or withdraw consent for a child’s data as outlined there.

15) Communications

By contacting us or booking, you consent to receive service-related emails/messages (confirmations, reminders, follow-ups). You may opt out of non-essential marketing at any time.

16) Scheduling for minors & mandated reporting

A parent/guardian must book for minors and remain the primary contact. If we suspect abuse, neglect, or imminent harm, we may be required by law to report to appropriate authorities.

17) Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, PMV and its owner, contractors, and affiliates are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, revenue, or profits arising from your use of the site or services. Our total liability is limited to the fees you paid for the service giving rise to the claim.

18) Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless PMV, its owner, and affiliates from claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the services, or your violation of applicable law or third-party rights.

We are not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control (e.g., severe weather, power/internet outages, illness, emergencies).

20) Governing law & venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Hampshire, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Venue for any permitted action lies in the state or federal courts located in New Hampshire.
