My mission

PMV Educational Advocacy stands beside you as a special education advocate, empowering your family to approach the journey with clear guidance and confident action. I am dedicated to ensuring that every child’s unique strengths are honored, every family’s voice is heard, and every student has the opportunity to thrive; academically, emotionally, and personally.

What is a special education advocate?

A special education advocate is a knowledgeable, non-attorney partner who helps families navigate special education with clarity and confidence. Grounded in IDEA, Section 504, and relevant state regulations, I translate school jargon, review evaluations and 504/IEP plans, provide ready-to-use email templates for communicating with the school, and attend meetings so your child’s strengths, needs, and rights stay at the center. At PMV Educational Advocacy, I collaborate, not confront, so teams make informed, student-first decisions.

Why should I use a special education advocate?

Schools are often under-resourced and overwhelmed. As a parent, you shouldn’t have to navigate complex special education systems alone. A special education advocate provides clear guidance so you feel prepared, supported, and heard.

An advocate helps you:

  • Decode the paperwork
  • Spot red flags or gaps
  • Prepare for upcoming IEP/504 meetings
  • Clarify your child’s legal rights and the school’s responsibilities
  • Align your child’s support plan with who they truly are

At PMV Educational Advocacy, I make the process clearer so your child can thrive; academically, emotionally, and personally.

Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at laura@pmvea.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Book a free 15-minute consult. We’ll discuss your child, your goals, and fit. If it’s a match, I’ll send a simple plan and timeline; all families requesting ongoing advocacy begin with a File Review.

Yes, I can join in person or via Zoom, help craft emails and talking points, draft your parent input, and provide clear follow-up notes; while you remain the decision-maker. While I reside in NH, I work with families to travel outside my greater area.

File Reviews are flat-rate by grade band; ongoing advocacy is billed hourly. I’ll provide a customized agreement after your free consult.

I’ll let them speak.
